Legislative Advocacy
The Beyond AIDS Foundation, as a 501(c)3 charitable organization, does not devote substantial resources to legislative advocacy, although it does educate public officials about optimal public health approaches to HIV prevention and management. From 1998 through 2019, the former separate corporation, Beyond AIDS, did support laws and regulations, at the federal and state level in the United States, that helped to reduce HIV transmission, and that led to detection and treatment of more infections, and opposed laws and regulations that had the opposite effect. The following are a few examples of positions and actions that were taken during that period. Several earlier examples can be found in the Articles and Letters and in the Historic Newsletters, under the Archives tab.
